Emily Landers - President

About Me

Hi, my name is Emily Landers, I'm 17 years old, and I am the CEO Class President. I come from a Christian family of six and although we are from Fisher, we’ve moved around a bit as well. Along with a couple of locations in Illinois, I’ve also lived in both Kentucky and Massachusetts. In my free time, I love to read and flip! I grew up in the sport of gymnastics where I learned most of my persistence and discipline and have just recently transitioned to cheerleading. Athletics have always been a big part of my life but I’m a student before an athlete. I am a part of my team’s Academic Challenge team and have been awarded 3rd in the state for mathematics and 3rd at sectionals for computer science! In addition to being in the National Honor Society, I take part in student council every year and have been voted on as a senator all four years of high school as well as voted on the Class Leadership team all four years of high school. My freshman year, I was asked to represent Fisher- along with a few other students - and attend a mental health seminar and my junior year, myself and two other Fisher students were invited to Senator Chapin Rose’s Youth Advisory. I have a “go get em” attitude and jump at any opportunity to broaden my horizons and learn all that I can! As for jobs that I’ve had, I mostly work with kids. I coached gymnastics at Top Star for almost two years and then coached at the YMCA for a summer. I pick up babysitting gigs every now and then and I also volunteer at my church every other week to teach Sunday school with my sister. Although I love working with kids, in the future, I can see myself applying my passion for math to the field of finance and exploring those options.
